Solar Water Pump is a revolutionary solution available to the farmers. The govt. both at centre and state are promoting the use of solar water pumps for irrigation by the farmers. This can change the entire agrarian economy by encouraging multi cropping.

Solar water pump comes in both AC and DC mode and both surface and submersible type. The main components are – Solar PV Modules, Controller and the pump. The surface pumps are normally used in lower capacity and submersible are in higher capacity. These solar pumps can be used throughout the day. There is no battery in these pumps. The major advantage of solar pump over diesel pump is that there is no recurring cost for the farmer. The govt. is initiating big in terms of solar pump under PMKSY/ KUSUM program for the entire country.
